Experience

 Aron Janssen, MD is board certified in child, adolescent, and adult psychiatry and is a clinical associate professor and the vice chair of child and adolescent psychiatry in the Pritzker Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Dr. Janssen is an internationally recognized expert in transgender mental health across the lifespan, and he is associate editor of the journal Transgender Health.

His most recent book is "Affirmative Mental Health Care for Transgender and Gender Diverse Youth."  Prior to joining the faculty at Northwestern, he founded and directed the Gender and Sexuality Service at New York University, and was the co-director of the pediatric consultation-liaison service, specializing in the mental health needs of medically ill children.
